Lighting up the Twittersphere in a big way late tonight is the announcement from Pinewood Studios in the UK about the next film in the James Bond canon following the somewhat surprising mega hit Skyfall, which went on to become the 7th highest grossing film of all time. Sam Mendes’s second contribution to the franchise is now called Spectre (early November 2015), and begins shooting at Pinewood next week, before also shooting in Mexico City, Rome, Tangier & Erfoud, Morocco, Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altausee, Austria. In addition to main cast members Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes, new cast members are Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Pride), David Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, which I’m still yet to see), Monica Bellucci (star of Cannes hit The Wonders), Christoph Waltz, and, as previously announced, Lea Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour, Midnight in Paris).
Possibly garnering the most excitement is Bond’s new wheels after his former Aston Martin was destroyed in Skyfall. Today the car was revealed to be a DB10, which, safe to say, is nothing to sneer at. Have fun drooling over this.
Below I’ve embedded the livestream for you to rewatch, and some cast photos from the announcement.
