Hot on the trail of yesterday’s Gone Girl and The Fault in Our Stars screenplay releases is the first from The Weinstein Company, Theodore Melfi’s St. Vincent. The film has garnered pretty good reviews in the US, and surprisingly very strong box office (predictions were a bit conservative), holding #6 at the box office after jumping from under 100 theatres to over 2500, and has a chance in the incredibly stacked Best Actor race and Original Screenplay. I’m yet to see the film (doesn’t come out until December 26 in Australia), so I’ll hold off on reading this for now, but it looks heartwarming, fun, and, really, an American version of About a Boy. I’m ok with that. Screenplay link has been added to the FYC Tracker page, along with individual distributor websites as they are launched.
